It is said and often, especially in election years, that politics is a nasty dirty business and always has been. Consequently, that is what we have come to expect.
Politicians are by nature liars and cheats and have no integrity and that is what we have come to expect of those we nominate.
Funny thing about life. We OFTEN get what we expect to find. Like the first time we went to London. We had been told the weather was always rainy and gloomy and the people cranky. SO, that is what we expected to find and for a day and a half that IS what we found...then on to Europe.
But after 3+ months on the continent we were too tired to be 'expectant' when we got back and amazingly the weather was warm and sunny and the people were warm and friendly. We had one of the best week and a half periods of the entire trip and hated to leave.
Could it just be possible that if we all expected more of our politics and politicians, we might just get more? We might get politicians who deserved our votes and our trust. A political landscape more productive with less rancor and divisiveness. Hold on you say. Really? We might just get a breed of elected officials that might WANT to serve the entire country in the same way as our founding fathers?
Hmmm...I wonder if that works in sex too. LOL.

I have written much about the political landscape these days, aka THE SILLY SEASON.
Silly maybe, but also dangerous...since a small armed bunch of hateful bigots has gained control of one of our two largest political parties...The Republican Party.
This has consequences far beyond the elections this year. Supreme Court Justice vacancy(ies), Foreign policy, Economic issues, Immigration, Race relations, the battles over basic human rights being waged by a warped group of real looney toons. Womens rights, gay rights, Minority rights of all kinds...ARE ALL AT RISK, thanks to this lunatic fringe on the FAR Right, and Right is inapt. it is WRONG...THE FAR OUT WRONG.
Let's call it for what it is. HATE.
and these people espouse the stupidest most ignorant bullshit I have heard in a long time. Hitler complex?
When I can't love who I really do love, something is wrong. OLD WHITE MEN are NOT the majority, so why do they wield so much power. Cause they pander to a segment of the population that is mostly rural, out of touch, unsophisticated, by and large under-educated, and HATEFUL. Many are FAUX Christians but Jesus never gave credence to the shit these f**kheads do.
Like in the Middle East, this is NOT about ideology, it IS about hate and bigotry and prejudice. You name me ONE scripture where Jesus Christ said
"GO YE THEREFORE AND HATE".
